DESCRIPTION:July 5-28: Artist Collective Art Exhibit. Legacy Training\, Inc. has put together the program of “The Artist Collective on Race\, Equity and Unity” which is an interdisciplinary group of artists who encourage social justice\, multiculturalism\, diversity\, equality\, equity\, and unity through visual arts. \nOpening Reception is July 20\, 6 PM: The reception includes artist talks by: \n\nDr. Mike Faris\, an artist and art instructor who has exhibited his artwork in St Louis and throughout Southern Illinois\nNajjar Abdul-Musawir\, MFA\, is an internationally acknowledged artist who has exhibited in the United States\, Africa\, Asia\, and Europe.\nRobert A. Ketchens\, a social realist painter\, is known for his layered artworks that are rich and deep in both color and symbolism.\n\nAfterward a Digital presentation: “To Thee I Pray” by Howard Hewett\, Live Performance “Legacy” by Callon B\, and “From State Prison to State Professor” – a documentary of the life of Najaar Abdul-Musawwir with Lynne M. Chambers\, JD\, MSW moderating. \nExhibit Open for viewing: Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m.
