DESCRIPTION:Come on out for our monthly Art Social.  Meet with other artists and work simultaneously as individuals or collaborate on a piece.  The idea here is to build friendships\, share new ideas and techniques\, and explore new media or hone old favorites. \nThe event is free and offered every Third Thursday of the month in our Center Building.  Bring your own materials or we will have some available.

SUMMARY:Freedom Sings
DESCRIPTION:Freedom Sings pairs working songwriters with veterans to write an original song highlighting experiences and accomplishments of their respective veterans.  Freedom Sings is planned as a 3-day music event with the schedule below. \nThursday 04/16 – Meet and greet with veterans and their songwriters at the Anna VFW.  The event starts at 6 pm and will be invite only for veterans & their guests\, songwriters\, and central organizers/community members.  There will be a dinner followed by a songwriters’ round where the musical artists play a couple of their own original songs. \nFriday 04/17 – A free concert will start at 7 pm at the Davie School Inn in Anna which will consist of a longer songwriters’ round with original music from the artists.  The event is free and open to the public. \nSaturday 04/18 – A free concert will start at 6 pm at the East Davie Street Plaza in Anna which will showcase the songs written for the 5 selected veterans.  The songs will have been written the previous day collaboratively between the two and will at this point be put together to recognize each individual service member.  Afterwards\, a songwriters’ round will follow with original songs from the artists.  The event is free and open to the public.
